which way back to Oz?

This week, the delightful Deann is hosting Sunday Postcard Art with the prompt of ELVES.

I've used these darlings from Hidden Vintage Studio

This first image is the original.... can you spot the mistake? yes somehow this little elf got her mascara all over her chin
so she had to go under the knife at PSP for a face lift....

I don't normally adjust with PSP but I print another face out and add it on, however my printer isn't working and I have to keep going to my neighbour to print image so I thought instead of disturbing her I would do it digitally

This week, my Little A is hosting Sunday Postcard Art with the theme of VICTORIAN SCRAP.
I love these type of collage images and have quite a collection of them. Lots are available on Pinterest and Google.

I just love these birdie images I've used for my postcard. So quaint

enlighten

This week's SPA is another colour challenge, I find this quite a challenge but at the same time, less daunting than a totally open theme. There is a little guidance.

i've used images from Itkupilli on Mischief Circus.
I love these religious type of images.

Daily Journaling

I am going to try to make a piece of art every day....
so far I have succeeded doing it for 3 days now

This is from Day 2
Journal page for The Three Muses/written word

not sure you can see a lot of the 'written word'
but there's plenty, lots of layers of different book pages
under the paint.

Magic Hat

This week I've chosen the theme of HATS... I wanted to go vintage with this... as I have so many vintage images with ladies in hats, but searching through them all I came across this lovely image by Itkupilli of a pinup witch.

Love this image but whilst cutting out somehow her chin got lost in the snipping. lol some images are just so difficult to cut and maintain the nature of the whole thing

I was very tempted to touch up with a digital overlay but hey it's art so it's not meant to be perfect :-)

Thanks for looking and also for everyones continued support of

To Be.....

my new art journal.... I found this wonderful book in 'the works' here in England.... it's an interesting book but I didn't get it to read.... I want to use it as a new art journal. I don't have an old book journal so I love this. Only trouble is I keep reading the pages lol

The first page in the journal is in honour of my friend Astrid whose fave colour is purple (a personal challenge to me!) I've used Tim Holtz art dolls too. (I have so many of these images already in my collage image collection but it is handy to have them especially when you don't have any printer ink!!)

Land of Wonder

I'm a tad late this week, but better late than never.

there's plenty of layers on this postcard!  Sometimes it's hard to know just when to stop!

Carte Postale

Our theme this week on Sunday Postcard Art is CARTE POSTALE so anything goes but your postcard must have the words somewhere on the postcard. Sounds easy? I'm always stumped when I have a free theme. Where does one start.... so I just carried on the postal theme and used this image by Lunagirl Moonbeams.

TFL hope you'll join in with us

Classic Tale of sweet Love

When I first saw this image I knew I wanted to use it along with the animals and the mushrooms (ok I know they are toadstools but I like the word mushroom)

So at first glance you think oh Sleeping Beauty but to me it is Snow White, who was always surrounded by the animals of the woods.

*namaste*

This week the theme on Sunday Postcard Art is Namaste. I first came across this word when I visited Nepal many ago. The airline staff said it to us as we boarded the plane and then when we left, along with a little bow.

It's such a beautiful word, and encompasses all feelings of peace, love and wisdom.

It would be lovely if you would join in with us

Voyage dans le Monde

This week's theme of Famous Buildings was chosen by Rein, I've chosen the easy route of the
Eiffel Tower
using an old collage sheet that was already printed out.

last week, our theme was Stargazing, here's my Stargazer, I like to think she is looking up to the sky to see where Lily's star (after she died, her pole dancing friends got together and named a star after her.  I was a little late to post this for last week's theme but I still wanted to show it :-)

I decided to have a colour combo theme this week on Sunday Postcard Art. Firstly, I gathered a few different types of mediums to use in different turquoises and limes.

meanwhile.....

somewhere over the rainbow

the theme on Sunday Postcard Art this week was chosen by the glorious Cindy and is RAINBOWS
The idea behind this card was that it was raining rainbow hearts... but they've sort of got lost in the collage. I should have printed more out (I have to borrow a printer atm, so didn't want to return to print more!)

Cherish Family Forever

This week's Sunday Postcard Art is a fairly easy theme to join in with us. It's HEXAGONS

To begin my postcard, I sprayed through a hexagon stencil and then used the same stencil with some crackle paste (love that stuff!)

once that was dry I added some die cut hexagons and began painting. the shimmery paint is Prima Finnabair Metallic Paint. It's gorgeous paint.
I've used some butterfly wings and the 'dolls' from Tim Holtz as I still don't have a printer that works.

Curiosity

This week's sunday postcard art is NUMBERS.

I still don't have a printer and so I'm using the Tim Holtz 'dolls'.

You can't see a huge deal of numbers on my postcard, however the first layer was using crackle paste through a number stencil.
I don't know about you but when I glance at the photo I keep seeing a little white dog in the bottom left corner. weird lol

ps... HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR TUESDAY, AUDREY!

Monday, 12 June 2017

and so it goes....

I am still without a printer so I've had to resort to die cuts for my silhouette postcard for Sunday Postcard Art this week! Plus a few previously printed out images in my collage stash.

I'm not very good at using die cuts, they just seem to sit on the page but what can one do?

we are sailing

This week, my wonderful friend Sabine is hosting on Sunday Postcard Art
The theme is SailAway

Yesterday I went to print my images out but no my printer wasn't playing along.
I've tried to fix it to no avail.

so ... I wasn't joining in ... then I went onto Facebook and look what came up in my 'on this day' pictures! So apparently I made this for Hidden Vintage Studios 5 years ago!
so I know it's an oldie but at least I can join in!

you need hands .... to replenish the soul

The word Hands just brings a song in my head that is from the Great Rock n Roll Swindle sung (?) by Malcolm McLaren ....

The title of my postcard this week, says Replenish the Soul and i'm sure we all need a little replenishing sometimes. Just lately I haven't been bothered making things, not a mojo thing but a really cannot be bothered at the moment. I hate feeling like this and when I start to make something I'm great. I get a flow going but I think it's because I have to get everything out. It would be nice to have a space I can go to and get arty.

well, today I thought it was time I got my finger out and made something!

so here it is....

happy Sunday!

freaky thang

This week's Sunday Postcard Art is hosted by my lovely Dutch friend Audrey and the theme is INSECTS

for my postcard I used a collage image from Angela Hoffman, I can't remember the name of the collage company or even if it's still going. Lots of lovely children with wings.
I used crackle paint from Decoart and a stamp set by Wendy Vechhi.
All colourings are using distress crayons and gelatos.
