What's all this?

I've heard a lot of anti-Valentines comments of late.... I don't care for these 'hallmark holidays' one way or the other but I do love the vintage images that represent LOVE

The theme on Lunagirl Moonbeams this month is.... LOVE
it's a great opportunity to win some digital collage images... so why not come over and join in? Don't forget it's your interpretation of LOVE

I'm trying to challenge myself to use 'square' images rather than cutting all the images out....it's very hard for me to do. (watch this space!)

Question of Medium?

I've  been pondering the question of mixed media.... I like to refer to my 'artwork' as mixed media.... I even googled the definition which states.... artwork made using two or more types of media. Then I pondered some more.....  is  what I make better described as multi layered?

This was my entry for last week's Orange theme on SPA.... which I didn't get around to blogging in time, even though I had made it in advance...

and so to break the postcard down... the base card is white that I added some some rubons to and then some acrylic paint . Then I used some mica sprays on top to add some shimmer. Collage images and stamping and some water soluble pastels. Lastly, I added some flower soft (i've never used this but found it in some of my mums craft things)
Therefore.... is this mixed media or multi layered?

Here is my postcard for  Anne's theme of ADD A CHARM

.... small steps

The past few months have been incredibly painful and yet I still find myself not ready to lift from my respite. I am however, beginning to enjoy creating again.

I do have a few things to show you....

firstly, my postcard for Lunagirl Moonbeams, where the theme is BABIES/CHILDREN this month. Karen has now made this challenge a monthly one but is still offering a prize for one of the lucky entrants.

I've been enjoying using a variety of mediums, on this for postcard for instance Ive used a base layer of an old phone book. then I've added texture paste using an alphabet stencil. then added plenty of layers of distress paint... directly and through stencils and on rubberstamps.

Believe

For a long time, Ive found myself drawn to religious imagery.
Itkupilli on Mischief Circus has a wonderful selection of these.

The theme on SPA is an Anything Goes theme.... here is my postcard

My only crafty Christmas prezzie was this beautiful box of Stabilo Woodys

Amber got a selfie stick so we've been messing around with that
