Every Flower is a Soul Blossoming in nature

This week's SPA was chosen by Astrid... she does some amazingly gorgeous Vintage style work. The theme being VINTAGE FLORALS ... yay I thought what a great and general theme....

then.... I was stumped... until last night when I sat down, got my collage images out and had a play. I had packed all my art stuff away as I had had yet another hounding visit from the council. So with the art stuff packed away, Id clearly packed away my motivation too.

Luckily, I have a bountiful stash of the Tim Holtz paperdolls at hand as I have yet to purchase any new ink for my printer. I have so many preprinted images anyway. I felt sure I could find something to work with.

This is the second postcard I made, I layered up the background with vintage papers, then used a napkin with flowers on it in the background. I added texture paste and the paperdolls, The flowers are cut from a scrapbook paper.

 
This way my first postcard for this theme... i love the colours on this one. i wasn't too sure if I had added enough florals.

I was in the mood to get messy I know that. lol

I believe in my Mask

This week's theme on Sunday Postcard Art is Masquerade.

I found a wonderful image to use, but I've been tidying up this week and ended up misplacing it.... so I had to come up with an alternative plan...
going through my images I came across some images from Nancy at Crowabout Studio... and the faces could be interpreted as a 'mask' ;-)  that's my reasoning and I'm sticking to it.

Can you believe the postcard started off like this... once I finished with everything you can't see anything of the first layer! lol

What sunshine is to Flowers, smiles are to Humanity

This week's Sunday Postcard Art is THE SUN ... it's been chosen by Anne

I've seen glimpses of sunshine through the window but generally the weather in England has been horrible, rain and wind... but it IS Winter so how can one complain? Soon we will be complaining it's too hot! ahhh the English way of complaining

here is my postcard before I added any paint to it... there's something lacking (besides colour) I think it's the absence of texture paste. Sometimes I get carried away collaging and forget to add texture beforehand and then there is little space to add texture afterwards.

A Tisket A Tasket
