New Year

 I hope its a happy one!!

On reflection, this past year has been a crazy, trying one. Full of tribulations and difficulties. Hopefully, next year will bring some peace and happiness to Octopode Towers

On the First Day of Christmas

 My true love gave to me..... A Partridge in a Pear Tree

I always remember as a child I struggled to remember the words of this song beyond the fifth day! We always seemed to perform it at Infant school 

This week, the theme on SPA is the 12 days of Christmas.... Ive gone with a partridge for this one that I found in a bird book.

So happy to get back to my usual collaging mixed media as opposed to my Christmas conveyor belt lol

Berry Christmas

 For this weeks theme on SPA (which is BERRIES) Ive made a Christmas-inspired postcard using a pair of robins

Coffee, Tea or Me

I always start my day with two cups of tea, I like a small to medium size mug. After 2 cups of tea, I can begin my day. Then, I will have a latte or a mocha... I do prefer an iced coffee over a hot one.

It's a Mystery

 Ok... First thing that comes to my mind when thinking this weeks postcard theme MYSTERY is the song It's a mystery by Toyah so no prizes what's been giving me an ear worm for the past few days!

Where do you come from?

 Thats what Marion, our hostess with the mostest wants to know this week.

This stumped me completely. Besides not having any stamps or access to a printer, i started thinking about the bigger picture. I descend from Vikings (yes i know!) My mum was German coming from an island called Sylt my dad was a Londoner through and through, although his mother came from Wales. 

I decided to stick to where I was born and where i feel like im from Peterborough in Cambridgeshire

I found these little boxes of info about places around the area in a map book and used as the background, Barnack, Ferry Meadows, Nene Valley to name a few. 

Added a paperdoll from TH and painted my background.

Ive gone for Easter eggs but you dont have to... Birds eggs, reptile eggs, whatever takes your fancy as long as there's eggs!!

Ive used this delightful Nasturtium flower fairy... these flowers are like weeds once you plant them they grow everywhere. Of course weeds is such a subjective word to use. Its much nicer to say wildflower 🏵️

Ive used this little victorian image of a girl holding a cat... The image reminds me so much of Amber. As a child she was always 'cat whispering' and cats followed her everywhere. Now shes grown up shes the same but also includes dogs 🐶
