Yesterday, I managed to go out for a few hours, I did go to the local shop the other day but didn't feel great but I ventured into town with Lily and met up with Amber, we did a bit of thrifting. and... I've been after a small tapestry since before christmas and I thought I would treat myself to one. Can't wait to start it.

Little A has been having a bake-off this week or so it seems, first she made these lovely gingerbread biscuits and then some lemon biscuits. Yummy... this is the book she used. no pix of the lemon bickies as they were gobbled up before the light of day.
Here's my babies.... still going stir crazy.... next week I'm going to start walking them again regular, just round the block to begin with.

good news ~ my stitches have been removed... bad news ~ i have an infection in the wound site so I STILL have to rest so I'm spending the afternoon with Doris Day and Calamity Jane. This was always my fave musical when I was a child. On DillyBeans Challenge this week the theme is FROSTY... this guy is definitely having a bad hair day! background is handmade with spritzers and masks.

There are good people....

in my life.... I have to give a grand shout out to Anne, one of my two best friends, who came to visit me this past weekend, although she did make me work my butt off on some atcs! All my friends from Katz & co have been caring and kind... just had a phone call from Sue offering to take me out of the house for an hour or go do shopping. All my internet friends are super dooper kind asking me if I'm ok. I'm so glad I have friends.

Another day of colouring, today with tea and profiteroles for lunch, yummy but sickly I must say! lol. I just wish I could DO something, first time I've been at home for any length of time for over a year and I can do NOTHING, it's actually driving me a bit crackers but the stitches come out on Friday! yay... still another week of rest following that though. I'm running out of True Blood to watch!Poor dogs are getting fed up too, I can't even pick them up.

Myrtle, the defender of the pencils. oh look I've got spotty pj's on! lol

Lastly, I learnt a new word this weekend... spice apparently it means 'sweets' oop north. lol

Thankful Every day

Yes, I've had an incredibly crazy stressful week! Last Tuesday, my mum had a fall and has broken her wrist. She's still in hospital and cannot return home until she has spent some time in a rehab place. So, I spent two whole days in hospital with her whilst everything was being plastered etc, they had to re-do the plaster 3 times, ouch! We have an extra doggie in the house now, a very naughty little girl who doesn't do anything she's told!

Then it was Lily's craft fair at the weekend, so it was crazy running around, getting no sleep for days and then doing the fair. Sunday I had to go up to hospital again (it's a hour's bus ride away from my house) then............................. breathe. yesterday, i had some time to myself and at last some creative time. Today, I'm back on the merry-go-round.

Here's a card I made my mum yesterday to cheer her up a bit.

On SPA this week, we are remembering with POPPIES. Here is my entry, I've used the poppy image from The Octopode Factory which I layered up on the card, and I've also made a poppy to wear using the same poppy image, but layering it up and spritzed it with glitter.

On a lighter note, here is my little Myrtle (she IS tiny although not as small as Petrie) pretending she is a meerkat. This is her fave past time.

Haribo for Breakfast

Yes, I deserve Haribo's for breakfast, it's my BIRTHDAY! yay another year older but not wiser as eating Haribo's first thing makes one feel slightly sick! lol

The girls had put up a banner and also done a little table with snacks on for our 'disco buffet' that we are having later on today, first we are off to the cinema to see the 3 muskateers (in 3d no less)

Had some lovely hand made cards this year... and the one from the girls is an all singing all dancing Jedward card... made me howl with laughter.

And lastly, the birthday girl's new shoes... yes PINK, GLITTER and LEOPARD PRINT what more could a girl ask for?

OMGosh... what a week! I had plans to do all my creative-ness and then ! 2 hospital appointments, then I ran out of ink, then Mum had a flood! I had NO time or ink to get anything made... so finally yesterday I got myself comfortable and made my two pieces... one for the TOFF challenge and for SPA (I have to give a massive shout out to Donna as it WAS my turn to do the sample this week)

Life Returns to 'normal'?

Today, Little A returns to school, as a 'post-16' student (this means 6th form to us normal folk) after 3 months being off school, waiting for exam results, etc. Miz Lils will be 'going to work' and so.... I will have time to make ART, not had much time to make much over the past year, with one thing and another, Miz Lils leaving school n starting her own business and my mum being ill I can finally FINALLY have time to have ART time. I cannot wait. I'm determined to have at least one day to myself and do what I want to do, it's been a long time coming. Hopefully, I will be able to get back into a routine, get a tad bit more organised (me? hah!) and even start trading again.

Here's my Little A going back to school earlier this morning. Hope it goes well for her, it was like her first day! lol (she'll probably get suspended for the turquoise in her hair! )

InGlorious Sunday for us

Had a great Sunday yesterday with the girls, just chillin'. Little A did some baking, yummy blondies and some biscuits, then we settled down for a little classic horror Nosferatu, music was very scary but the film was funny. Little A and I have had a great summer watching lots of horror flicks together. Summer ends on Thursday when Little A returns to school.

Then later, while Little A retired to her room to read Jane Austen's Mansfield Park, Miz Lils and I broke out one of our fave films to watch together, the story of Edie Sedgewick Factory Girl. Such a poignant film.

whether it's Elvis, Motley Crue or Cyndi Lauper, girls love to have fun. Don't know about fun but I've been very naughty this week and I haven't had a chance to make anything for SPA but I have had time to make a b.i.g tag for THe Octopode Factory challenge blog. It features one of the Nowhere Girls, Grace ~ with her pet bunny rabbit. (Used my new distress stains on this! loving em!)

On Gingersnap Creations, the random redhead challenge is for Plane & Trains.

Here's my card, featuring one of The Octopode Factory steampunk images and some Tim Holtz stamps. My delightful mother did point out that the plane is upside down ! The pilot is doing loop the loop. lol

This card is made using a steampunk image from The Octopode Factory and some stamps from creative expressions.

It's Hip to be Square!

This week at SPA the theme is SQUARES. Donna & I thought this may be an easier theme .... hmmmm..... no way! This was difficult!

I've gone with the Huey Lewis song "it's hip to be square" (I'm not a fan but I was looking for something to inspire me or a quote) and I've come up with these two postcards for the theme.
